Former Dead Disco member Victoria releases her solo album under the guise of Little Boots and it is not a million miles away from the sound of her old band but it sounds a lot more poppy and electro.
Kicking off with New In Town the album is a great electropop album full of catchy choruses, sugar coated melodies and interesting drum beats. Also on tracks such as Click and Ghosts she is not afraid to slow the pace down and break away from the standard dance formula. Mathematics sounds very similar to her earlier work in Dead Disco. Symmetery is a duet featuring vocals by Philip Oakey from The Human League and it is a solid dance track with a dark 80s edge to it.
Highlights for me are the uptempo tracks of Earthquake, Stuck on Repeat and the unashamedly pop of Remedy and Tune Into My Heart.
10 out of 10 because the poppier tracks will stick in your head for ages and the more diverse tracks are still interesting. The whole album shows how good a song writer she is too!
