Good Shoes - No Hope, No Future
Starting off with the fast and furious The Way My Heart Beats it is a great opening track but unfortunatly doesn't set the pace for the full album.
Everything You Do is a drastic change of pace as it is a lot slower but thankfully the pace gets picked up in I Know which sounds very very similar to Arctic Monkeys. Under Control is also a very Arctic Monkeys-esque track that has a cool bassline. Do You Remember, Our Loving Mother in a Pink Diamond, Times Change and A Thousand Miles an Hour pick up the pace even more and will be live favourites.
The album closes with a slow but noisy track Then She Walks Away that has heavy vocal distortion and the acoustic City By the Sea.
It is a short album at only 10 tracks but all of them are good in their own way. The album isn't ground breaking and it will be hard to tell if Good Shoes can stand out from the current crop of indie bands.
