The Blackout- live at The Brickyard 8th June 2010

As part of several smaller dates on a warm up tour before Download Festival The Blackout made their third visit to Carlisle and second to The Brickyard.

The gig was apparently sold out and the queue to get in proved this.

Due to the queue I unfortunatly missed a lot of OurFamous Dead's set but from what I saw the Workington based band won over the 250+ people inside as their energetic combination of metal guitars and dance beats incited crowd action especially during their last song The Clock.

Tour support ISpyStrangers are no strangers to Carlisle having previously played The Brickyard. Again they got a very good crowd reaction with their catchy uptempo screamo. They had an excellent stage presence and even threw in covers of Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park.

After quite a long change over The Blackout came on and proved why they are selling out big venues and playing big festivals. Kicking off with STFUppercut they turned The Brickyard in to one huge moshpit! The pace barely let up as they played hits such as Children of the Night, Said and Done, This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things and Top of the World. Their live skills are flawless and frontman Sean Smith knew how to encourage the crowd. Finishing off with I'm a Riot... we were very lucky to witness such a band playing in intimate surroundings.
