After recently playing on the NME Shockwaves Tour alongside The Maccabees and The Big Pink, Northern Irish electropop band Two Door Cinema Club release their debut album Tourist History.
Clocking in at just over half an hour this is a fast and furious collection of ten tracks, all of which will cause hysteria at a gig or a club!
Tracks range from the high speed dancepunk of Cigarettes in the Theatre, I Can Talk and Undercover Martyn to the slower more electronic Come Back Home, This is the Life and You're Not Stubborn.
It is a debut album and a lot of the songs have similar structures and a lot of the tracks have a very strong Hot Chip and Bloc Party feel about them but they have their own unique sound and you can only expect bigger and better things to happen to them. I think the second half of the album has the strongest tracks such as my favourites I Can Talk and Undercover Martyn and the band seem at their best during the high tempo tracks.
Worth checking out if you enjoy bands like Friendly Fires, Foals and The Rapture but you want something with more of a frantic rock edge.
