There are many ways to get around Cumbria. You need to plan ahead so that your route is fast, safe and inexpensive.

The first thing you need to do is work out what time you need to be at your destination, then decide what is the easiest way to get there.

If you decide to use the train or bus, you can click on to Traveline for bus and rail timetables as well as a journey planner or call them on 0870 608 2 608.

If any of your journey is on foot try and walk through well lit places and avoid isolated areas.

Make sure somebody knows what time you are due to arrive at your destination and keep them informed if there are any changes to your plans by sending a text or ringing the person
