Eurocamp is an International Basketball Camp held at the Hoops Basketball Centre in Barrow. The camp welcomes players on a residential and non residential basis and caters for beginners to players in National teams. The age range catered for is 11 - 22 years. Eurocamp is in its 13th successful year of summer camps and is once again headed by Dr Laszlo Nemeth, ex GB senior men coach who is supported by 12 other coaches, 3 American, 2 Bulgarian and top coaches from around the UK.


Residential cost is £239.00,

Non Residential is £159.00


Every camper receives a free kit, 12 hours coaching every day and all meals are provided.

Wigan Warriors Rugby Camps - Learn to Play the Warriors Way!

Following the success of last year, Wigan Warriors have re-launched their rugby camps in Cumbria for boys and girls aged 6 - 14yrs.


The Warriors Development Staff will visit South Cumbria in August where they will deliver day sessions at some of the region's leading amateur clubs including Walney Central, Barrow Island, Askam, and Ulverston.


The camps have been devised to offer coaching for a range of abilities and ages, offering general fundamental skill development and multi-sports sessions to specific Rugby League activities and development.

The camps are as follows:


Askam ARLFC - 10th August
Walney Central RLFC - 11th August
Barrow Island ARLFC - 12th August
Ulverston ARLFC - 13th August


The cost of the camp is £20 per child and places on the camps must be pre-booked.

The Park Leisure Centre is hosting a free Wheelchair Skills course on Tuesday 31st August (9.30am - 3pm).
This is a great chance to meet other young wheelchair-users and to learn skills to help you become more independent.
Previous course attendees and newcomers welcome.
Extra chairs provided for mums, dads, brothers and sisters to join in with the games.

Pozitive Badminton Juniors

Pozitive Badminton Juniors are looking for new members

Classes are held on Wednesday nights at Chetwynde School, they currently have 2 classes; 6 - 7:30pm and 7:30 - 9pm and are open to anybody aged 6 to 16, any ability.

They have equipment available to borrow or buy.

Pozitive Badminton Juniors has recently achieved Premier Club status from Badminton England within the Clubmark structure, recognising its dedication to providing quality coaching. It is the only Badminton club to achieve this in South Cumbria.

Squash Coaching at Dalton Leisure Centre

Squash is a game that can be played at any age. The basics of the game are easy to learn, and there are modified games and equipment to suit every size and skill level.

Held on Saturday mornings at 9.30am to 12.30pm, Monday Evenings between 7pm - 8pm and Thursday Afternoons between 4.20pm-5pm.

The cost of a session is £ 1.50 per person.

Please Note: Racquets and balls are provided and you must have non marking trainers.
