Cumbria's 11 MILLION Takeover Day Events
11 MILLION is a national organisation led by the Children's Commissioner for England, Professor Sir Al Aynsley-Green. It organises 'Takeover Day' to prompt children and young people to be invited to take over activities and services delivered by a wide range of organisations. The campaign's aim is to ensure that the views of children and young people are routinely asked for and listened to.

Representatives from local further and higher education colleges, sixth forms, work-based learning providers, employers and social/enrichment organisations will be present to answer young people from Year 9 to Year 12 and their parents' questions in a relaxed and informal environment.
The event will take place in the Sports Centre within the Carlisle Campus of the University of Cumbria. There is no charge to attend the event, though please note that the Sports Centre operates a Pay and Display Car Park until 6pm. Alternative Car Parks can be found at William Street and Cecil Street.
In addition, there will be 3 optional presentations that you can book in advance for (on a first come first served basis):
The timing of the presentations will be for 30mins. To book a place, please call 01228 596272 and state your name/s and which presentation you would like to book for. At this point you will be given a time to attend. This will reserve you a place and then all you need to do is simply attend at the correct time. Signs from the Sports Hall will direct you to the Learning Gateway building where the presentations are situated or alternatively a member of staff can escort you to the location.
If you require further information, please feel free to contact the Carlisle Connexions Centre at 28 Lowther Street or on 0800 435709.
